EXCLUSIVE: Former Coventry City star player Tipped to make premier league return in surprise tranfer move.

Coventry City hold ‘positive talks’ of sensational Gus Hamer return as transfer detail emerges

Gustavo Hamer left the Sky Blues in 2023 to join then-Premier League side Sheffield United

Coventry City are in talks with Sheffield United over a possible return for Gustavo Hamer, according to reports.

Hamer left the Sky Blues in the summer of 2023 after the play-off final defeat to Luton Town. He signed a four-year deal contract with the Blades, joining for around £15million.

The 29-year-old has continued his fine numbers at Bramall Lane with 22 goals and 29 assists over the past three seasons. However, he has one year left on his deal and has been linked with a return to the Coventry Building Society Stadium.

According to Will Oelrich of BBC Sport, the Sky Blues have held positive talks with the Championship side and discussions remain ongoing.

Interestingly, it’s claimed that Sheffield United still owe Coventry money from the move that took him away from the club three years ago and that could be vital in a reunion.

Hamer’s return would be a huge moment in the Sky Blues’ transfer business this summer.

Frank Lampard’s men have strengthened their centre-back options with Aurele Amenda while Loum Tchaouna has arrived from Burnley. Frank Onyeka’s loan move from Brentford has also been made permanent.
