Frank Lampard issues team news update as Coventry City set for double boost

The Sky Blues face Brighton at the CBS Arena this weekend and will have two new signings available to them
Frank Lampard likes what he sees so far from young defender Stephen Mfuni and insists the Manchester City teenager is ready to play for Coventry City.
The 18-year-old was a late arrival in the transfer window and having been ineligible for a debut last weekend, with the Sky Blues facing his parent club, he has not yet been seen on the pitch.
However, that could change this Sunday, with the versatile England Under-19 well integrated and in with a chance of making the squad to face Brighton.

Lampard has been impressed with a player who did well on loan in the Championship last season: “He’s fitting in very well on and off the pitch, settled in very well with his personality, he’s nicely confident, very polite, very inquisitive, all good things that you love to see from good young players.
“And on the pitch also he’s trained really, really well and settled in seamlessly and we’re we’re very happy to have him, he’s been enjoyable to work with in the training days – and he’s ready.
“One of the reasons that we brought him to the club is because he’s played as a left back for City, he’s played a left back for Watford and is a centre back by nature as well, so that’s good versatility for us.”
Mfuni will come into consideration for the match against the Seagulls, as will new signing Yann Gboho – but Lampard will not be boosted by any players returning from injury.
“We’ve got the same squad as last week included with Yann [Gboho] obviously coming in,” he said.
“Josh Eccles is not fit yet, Kaine [Kesler-Hayden] will not be back yet, hopefully he’ll be back for around international break time to start training, Wolfy [Luke Woolfenden] the same and Haji [Wright] is longer term.”
