Partizan defeated Zalgiris for third consecutive win, Baskonia claimed a convincing win over Fenerbahce

Partizan defeated Zalgiris 84:78 on their home court in EuroLeague Round 13, securing their third consecutive win.

Partizan faced injury issues in this game and was without Iffe Lundberg, Aleksej Pokusevski, and Mario Nakic, while the visitors were missing only Tomas Dimsa.

Partizan played better in the first quarter, particularly on defense, as Zalgiris struggled to score. They made a few three-pointers, and Tyrique Jones was excellent in the paint, showing great energy. As a result, the black-and-whites led 22:19 after the first ten minutes.

Throughout the game, Partizan appeared to be the better team on the court, but they couldn’t fully pull away. Lonnie Walker was dominant, already scoring 17 points by the middle of the second quarter. Partizan only maintained their lead by halftime, with the score standing at 44:41.

Zalgiris played brilliantly in the third quarter, hitting several three-pointers in a row, with Brady Manek, Lonnie Walker, Edgaras Ulanovas, and Dovydas Giedraitis all contributing. As a result, the visitors took a 61:54 lead. However, Partizan had a strong response from Frank Ntilikina and Carlik Jones, and they managed to tie the game by the end of the third quarter, which ended 64:64.

The Black-and-Whites played excellent defense in the final quarter, gradually building a more significant lead, which was seven points (76:69) with four minutes remaining. Zalgiris tried to make a comeback in the final minutes, but since they were unable to, Partizan secured their third consecutive win and now hold a record of 5 wins and 8 losses.

The top scorer in Partizan’s victory was Carlik Jones with 19 points, along with 10 assists. Frank Ntilikina and Tyrique Jones also played well, each adding 15 points.

For Zalgiris, Lonnie Walker was the top performer with 26 points, while Edgaras Ulanovas and Brady Manek each scored 12 points.

In the next round, Partizan will host Panathinaikos, while Zalgiris will welcome Anadolu Efes.

Baskonia convincingly defeated Fenerbahce 88:76 on their home court in EuroLeague Round 13.

Baskonia looked much better from the start. They dominated defensively, and Fenerbahce had no answer, while everything was going smoothly for Baskonia on offense. After the first ten minutes, the home team had a substantial 26:12 lead. The same story continued in the second quarter. The Spanish team was outstanding defensively, Fenerbahce had no players in form, and by halftime, Baskonia had built a massive 45:25 lead under the guidance of coach Pablo Laso.

The team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius had no chance of a comeback in the second half. Baskonia maintained their lead with ease throughout and ultimately secured a thoroughly deserved victory.

The top scorer for the winning team was Markus Howard with 17 points, while Nikos Rogkavopoulos added 15, and Kamar Baldwin and Donta Hall each contributed 14 points.

For the visitors, the standout players were Tarik Biberovic and Arturs Zagars, each scoring 13 points, while Nigel Hayes-Davis contributed 11 points

In the next round, Baskonia will visit Bayern, while Fenerbahce will travel to face Real Madrid.
