Felix Auger-Aliassime has seen his ATP ranking soar to 13th in the world after his stellar US Open campaign, the highest he has been since 2023.
The Canadian achieved his best Grand Slam result in four years at Flushing Meadows, earning victories over the likes of Alexander Zverev and Alex de Minaur to advance to the semifinals.
In the final four, Auger-Aliassime ultimately lost to Jannik Sinner, despite taking a set off the then-defending champion.
As he sets his sights on the Asia swing, the 25-year-old has now been presented with a golden opportunity in the latter stages of the season.

Auger-Aliassime’s result in New York meant he gained 790 ATP points, which not only took him 14 places up the rankings, but he is also now 10th in the ‘Race to Turin’, the annual battle for a place in the ATP Finals.
Already confirmed for the year-end event are Carlos Alcaraz and Sinner, who have 10,540 and 7950 live points, respectively.
Trailing them tied third are Novak Djokovic and Zverev, who both have tallies of 4180.
Only 1000 points separate 10th place Auger-Aliassime, and fourth place Ben Shelton, who could be in doubt for the rest of the season.

The American suffered a shoulder injury during his third-round clash with Adrian Mannarino at the US Open, and although he has not yet confirmed how long he will be out for, it is unlikely he will want to rush back.

Like Shelton, Jack Draper also suffered an injury setback in the Big Apple and has announced he will be sidelined for the rest of 2025.
With the two stars out of action, Auger-Aliassime’s chances of making the ATP Finals for the first time since 2022 have just increased.
While he still has to battle it out with Lorenzo Musetti, Alex de Minaur and Taylor Fritz, it is likely that he will only have to make up 1000 points to qualify.

The next chance for Auger-Aliassime to clinch points comes in the form of two ATP 250 events, the Chengdu Open and the Hangzhou Open.
Then come two ATP 500 tournaments in Tokyo and Beijing, before the penultimate Masters 1000 competition in Shanghai.
Following the Asia swing, the tour returns to Europe for the indoor hard-court season, where the lion’s share of points will be available at the Paris Masters.
Auger-Aliassime will hope to make deep runs in Shanghai and Paris in order to return to the year-end event.
