Controversial delegation at the derby between Rapid Bucharest and FCSB, which will be played in the sixth round of the Romanian Super League play-offs, in Giulești.
The match is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, starting at 9:00 PM, and the Central Referees Commission has decided that Radu Petrescu will be at center field.

Rapid Bucharest and FCSB meet on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the sixth round of the Romanian Super League play-offs, in a match scheduled for 9:00 PM, in Giulești.
The Central Referees’ Commission delegated Radu Petrescu for the derby through which the team trained by Marius Șumudică tries to wash away the shame suffered in the Romanian Cup, and which could be decisive in the fight for the title.
The Bucharest referee is at the second match between Rapid and FCSB this season, after the second leg of the regular season, which ended in a draw, score 0-0, at the National Arena in the capital.
In that match, Radu Petrescu surprised the “red-blues” by sending off defender Joyskim Dawa in the first half for yellow card accumulation. In the 36th minute of the match at the National Arena, there was a small contact between Joyskim Dawa and Elvir Koljic, as a result of which the Bosnian striker fell and accused him of being stepped on. Even though nothing clear can be seen on the replays, Radu Petrescu decided to give him a yellow card, after the insistence of the assistant. Just 4 minutes after that phase, Joyskim Dawa saw the second yellow card and was sent off.
Marius Șumudică, accusations against Radu Petrescu
Before the aforementioned match, Marius Șumudică, the Giulesti coach , spoke about Radu Petrescu and stated that the referee has “antipathy towards Rapid Bucharest”.
