There’s plenty for Félix Auger-Aliassime and his fans to be encouraged about despite the Wimbledon quarterfinal defeat.
The loss to Novak Djokovic was disappointing, but it came after another impressive Grand Slam campaign in which Félix once again demonstrated that he belongs among the ATP Tour’s elite. Taking Djokovic to five sets on one of tennis’ biggest stages is another reminder of how competitive he has become against the very best.
The positives are significant:
- World No. 4: Félix remains fourth in the ATP Rankings, confirming his consistency throughout the season.
- ATP Race: He currently sits 7th in the ATP Race to Turin, keeping him firmly in contention for a place at the prestigious ATP Finals later this year.
- Strong Grand Slam Form: Quarterfinal appearances at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon underline his growing consistency in major tournaments.
- Next Stop: Fans won’t have to wait long to see him back in action. Félix is expected to compete at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, an ATP 500 event scheduled for July 27 to August 2, where he’ll look to build momentum ahead of the North American hard-court swing and the US Open.
For Auger-Aliassime, the focus now shifts from the grass courts of Wimbledon to the hard courts of Washington. If he can maintain his current level, he’ll have an excellent opportunity to add more ranking points, strengthen his position in the ATP Race, and continue building confidence for the remainder of the season.
The Wimbledon run may have ended in heartbreak, but the bigger picture remains very encouraging. At just 25 years old, Félix is still firmly established among the world’s best, and the next chapter of his 2026 season is only just beginning.
