‘It’s a Disaster’ — Ally McCoist’s Emotional Verdict on Rangers’ £22m Blunder

McCoist ‘DISMAYED’ as Shocking Situation Leaves Him Completely LOST for Words

Ally McCoist reckons Youssef Chermiti’s situation at Rangers is ‘an absolute disaster’ – so much so that he doesn’t even want to talk about it.

Chermiti had been the subject of plenty of interest this summer and the Ibrox side booted out a bid in the region of £22m from Galatasaray, only for the striker to pick up a serious ACL injury against Hibs the following day.

The injury torpedoed any chance the club had of banking a fee for the striker this summer and, while they have been reluctant to publicly estimate a return timeline, it’s the type of injury that’s been known to end seasons even this early on.

Ibrox hero McCoist reckons it’s a ‘disaster’ that the club have missed out on a huge fee that would have significantly bolstered McInnes’ budget for the remainder of the window.

He says he’s gutted for the 22-year-old – and for the club who have had to think on their feet and reassess.

He told talkSPORT: “Youssef Chermiti’s injury is a disaster. An absolute disaster. I think the rumours were that they’d been offered £23-24m for him.

“I don’t even want to talk about it, and it just dismays me. It’s a massive blow for the boy, and I’m gutted for him, of course.

“But in terms of the club itself, there’s no other word for it than a disaster. That’s all you can say.”
